The ski area Sölden is one of the most popular winter ski resorts in the Alps and includes 31 ski lifts & gondolas and 144 km slopes. The two high-performance feeder mountain gondolas, the Giggijoch Gondola (4.500 persons/h) and the Gaislachkogl Gondola (3.600 persons/h), guarantee a fluent transport to the ski area. The perfectly prepared slopes and the amazing view of the snowy landscape are waiting for you. That is why the ski area Sölden is one of the biggest and most modern in Austria. It is divided into four parts:
- Gaislachkogl
- Giggijoch
- Rettenbach Glacier
- Tiefenbach Glacier
Due to the two glacier ski areas snow is guaranteed from October till May. From easy beginner areas at Giggijoch to difficult, steep downhill slopes at Gaislachkogl there is something for every type of skier. The longest ski run goes from the Schwarzen Scheide with about 15 km towards the valley.
The BIG3 are for anyone who loves a good mountain view. Each of the 3,000 meter high mountains (Gaislachkogl, Tiefenbachkogl and Schwarze Schneide) has one viewing plattform. From there your can look up to about 100 km distance.
For a break between skiing in one of the 30 mountain huts or self-service restaurants is optimally cared for you. Don't forget to treat yourself after a successful day of skiing with a visit to the umbrella bars or aprés ski bars.
